DescriptionTony Millionaire, Bathos on the Beach cc 1992.jpg
English: The cartoonist Tony Millionaire, who chronicled many of the Immersionists' activities, depicts the scarecrows of "Scare Day." The DIY scarecrow-building event on the dilapidated Williamsburg waterfront was intended to ward off corporate developers which many feared would overwhelm Williamsburg's emerging village life. Millionaire's strip was prophetic, right down to the gaping hole in one of the towers built on the water in the new millennium.
