DescriptionPolitical Parties of Northern Ireland.png
English: The purpose of this chart is to illustrate the splits and mergers around the main political parties in Northern Ireland. It includes every party that has stood in a Northern Irish election, plus any others identified. It also includes all-Ireland parties before partition to contextual the 1920s onwards. Bolder colours highlight the current main five parties.
Party size is not to exact scale, rather is relative to the socio-political context (i.e. votes, representatives and significance - averaged out over its existence). Parties are not in order on an overall left/right-wing spectrum, rather are only positioned relative to the party it has (usually) spilt from or merged with.
