English: Digital darkfield analyses[1] of lattice-fringe images: (a) darkfield using a 200-periodicity in the lattice image of a Pd icotwin down the 5-fold direction showing the predicted "bowtie", (b) darkfield from the same image using a 111-reflection showing the predicted "butterfly", (c) experimental brightfield image of a randomly-oriented AuPd cluster, and (d) 220-reflection bowtie discovered in a digital darkfield tableau[2] from that image.
