Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Atmospheric carbon cycle
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | This picture shows the main components of the carbon cycle and the flows between each reservoir. It's very schematic, easy to understand, and covers all major natural reservoirs and processes involved. Because this is a complex system, it's very helpful to be able to show these flows in a graphic form.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
Its simplicity and ease of understand is higher than alternative, free illustrations. If I were to duplicate it it would only be copying.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | This is a fairly low-resolution image. It is the only one from this publication used in this article. It is a small excerpt (about a quarter page) from a larger report (the chapter is over 50 pages long and is part of a larger publication).
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The publisher is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which has given permission to use its images as long as they are attributed properly, which will be the case here.
