DescriptionAndropogon scoparium and Andropogon gerardii (20480264444).jpg
Andropogon scoparium (little bluestem) dominates this site, along with Andropogon gerardii (big bluestem), Bouteloua curtipendula (sideoats gramma), and Sorghastrum nutans (Indiangrass). All of these grass species are common along roadsides as well as in relatively undisturbed settings where prairie species are naturally reassembling. Helianthus maximiliani, Aster ericoides, Aster ascendens, and Solidago sp. are some of the common native herbs at this native prairie site.
