English: The bend of the Sukhona River near the village of Porog is formed by high banks that exposed rocks of the Upper Permian period. High, up to 60 meters, the banks are composed of layers of marl and clay of various colors. Remains of ancient plants and animals have been preserved on the exposed fossilized rocks, and along the coast one can observe petrified paw prints of animal lizards and dinosaurs that walked on soft ground millions years ago.
