Synopsis

edit

The manga takes place in a futuristic Japan now ruled by aliens, nine years after they supposedly saved Earth from a meteorite. Nomamoto, a teenage girl, and Kitami, a young man, decide to end the aliens domination by killing and eating them.

Reception

edit

Drama Queen was the most popular new series on Manga Plus in 2024.[1] It was criticized for being xenophobic, however, with the aliens seen as a allegory for immigration.[2]

In the English translation, a scene where Nomamoto complains about "girls who call their boyfriends partners", was edited to "girls who give pet names to their partners", leading to allegations of censorship. [3]
