You Bred Raptors is an American Electronic Music Project based out of Boston Massachusetts, comprised of musician Corey Tilton. You Bred Raptors has released Two studio albums and Nine Singles. All music is written, performed, and recorded by Tilton.
History
editThe Project began releasing experimental solo music on Youtube and Myspace in 2006 under the name "The Man Without A Plan", and in 2009 Tilton changed the name of the project to You Bred Raptors and began officially releasing singles on Bandcamp, Youtube, and other platforms. The name is a reference to the Sam Neil line in the 1993 film Jurassic Park. Unlike in the movie, the name of the group has no Question Mark at the end and is instead a declarative. This Declarative Statement, rather than question, fits in with many of the lyrical themes and ideas throughout You Bred Raptors' music.
You Bred Raptors released Nine singles from 2009 to 2019, and released two EPs in 2020.
Musical style
editYou Bred Raptors' musical style and genre changes from release to release, and often song to song within releases. Many of You Bred Raptors' tracks have Post-Hardcore/Pop Punk and even Metalcore influences, while others have more Synth Pop and Indie Pop sounds. You Bred Raptors has received positive reception from the Synth-Wave community for its more retro sounding synth pop and experimental electronic sounding tracks. Many You Bred Raptors tracks feature Quotes, Audio Samples, and References to Jurassic Park, and other related 90's pop media.
You Bred Raptors' songs often features combinations of vintage analog synths and drum machines, electric guitars and basses, acoustic drums, Saxophones, various electric keyboards, and voice, in it's songs.
