On December 29, 2024, an aircraft owned by the Jazirah Aviation Club launched. Immediately, the aircraft crashed in the coast of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Both occupants died, including a passenger and a pilot. After the crash, an investigation was launched.

Background
editThe flight was commissioned by Doctor Sulaymaan Al Majid for sightseeing. His brother was to succeed Majid in another sightseeing flight.[1]
Passenger and crew
editThere was one passenger and one crew, a pilot, in the flight.[2] They belonged to, each, Pakistani and Indian nationality.[3] The sole passenger was Sulaymaan Al Majid, a 26-year-old Indian doctor. He was a clinical fellow for the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom.[1] The sole crew member was a 29-year-old Pakistani woman, who was the pilot for the flight.[4]

Flight and accident
editOn 2:00 p.m. on December 29, 2024, a plane, owned and operated by the Jazirah Aviation Club launched from the Al Jazeirah Airport, intended to land back in the airport.[5] Immediately, the glider lost contact with air traffic control and eventually crashed off the coast of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in a supposed emergency landing.[2][4] The two occupants survived at first but succumbed to their injuries in a hospital.[1]
Aftermath
editAfter the crash, the Air Incidents Team for the General Civil Aviation Authority received a report about the incident. Eventually, the incident was publicized, with the GCAA issuing condolences to the family involved in the incident.[6]
