Compressio datorum, vel digestio fontana,[1][2] vel deminutio proportionis bitorum,[1] in ratione signorum digitalium digestionem implicat informationis per pauciores bitos quam in prima repraesentatione.[3] Compressio aut cum aut sine damno esse potest.
