Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Forensic Animator to join our team. This role requires a professional who excels in 3D animation software and photorealistic rendering, especially using V-Ray and Unreal Engine’s Lumen. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to manage junior team members, and experience in client interactions and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the creation of forensic exhibits, including rendering, animations, and interactive virtual reality experiences.
Utilize advanced 3D animation software, photogrammetry, point cloud analysis, and motion capture techniques.
Develop photorealistic renderings using V-Ray or UE5's Lumen.
Manage meetings with clients and subject matter experts, facilitating web meetings and presenting deliverables, recording feedback, and making edits.
Estimate costs for 3D exhibits, post-production projects, and interactive visualizations.
Ensure projects meet internal deadlines and quality standards before external drafts.
Oversee and mentor junior team members, primarily in 3D asset creation, lighting, animation, and composition.
Spearheaded research initiatives in virtual reality and character animation.
Reports to the Director of Forensic Visualization.
Required Expertise:
Expert-level knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects
Familiarity with LiDAR and photogrammetry scanning
3D Modeling from scan data
Physically Based Rendering (PBR) (Adobe Substance -> V-Ray and UE5’s Lumen)
Lighting and Composition (V-Ray & UE5's Lumen)
Strong understanding of composition and photorealistic rendering.
3D Animation Software (3DS Max, Maya, C4D, Houdini)
Video Analysis
Excellent client communication and proposal development skills.
Proficient in project management, including budgeting and team leadership.
Experience with MAXScript, tyFlow, and Chaos Phoenix
Motion Capture and Character Animation (Movella X-Sens -> MotionBuilder)
Familiar with integrating simulation data
Experience with FAA sUAS Remote Pilot certification.
Interactive visualizations in UE5
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Media Forensics, Architecture, Animation).
At least 5-7 years of experience in forensic animation or a related field like Arch Viz.
Proven track record in managing complex projects and leading a team.
