About The Role

DNV's Energy Systems Energy Management group is seeking an Energy Efficiency Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and management of energy efficiency programs. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.

This position will be based out of our DNV office in Detroit, Michigan offering a hybrid schedule of three (3) days in the office and two (2) days working remotely.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical support and guidance to program participants and stakeholders.
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret energy usage data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and project teams on energy efficiency technologies and solutions.
  • Stay current with advancements in energy efficiency technologies, policies, and industry trends.
  • Manage multiple energy efficiency projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored energy efficiency solutions.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

About You

What is Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in energy efficiency engineering, energy audits, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Intermediate level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access is required
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 25% of the time (in Michigan traveling)
  • Must be able to meet the requirements to drive for company business
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb up/down a ladder
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

What Is Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is preferred.
