The Director of Performance Analytics leads the data analytics and (future) data warehousing teams in the research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems, focusing on improving media and marketing performance and achieving overall client media goals.


Overall, this person understands marketing data KPIs and can craft story-telling moments that garner insights and ideas for future campaigns and business goals. The Director is also a positive and proactive coach to the team in delivering flawless reporting and consistency and dazzles with thoughtful and strategic new ideas.


The candidate has 10 years of experience in an agency data analytics department, and must have long-term experience within a marketing/advertising agency. As a considered candidate, you thrive in a fast-paced agency environment where multiple projects often need to be steward simultaneously. You also have had vast and successful experience in bringing together diverse functions and building teams, including data analytics and warehousing personnel, guiding them through successful data analytic projects.


Responsibilities include: DEPARTMENT BUILDING, VISION AND MANAGEMENT


· Driving positive and proactive departmental culture and promoting data-driven decision-making, consumer-driven analytics, marketing, and investment planning across clients' advertising and business.


· Ability (and willingness) to both lead a department/steward to a higher-level vision and get in the weeds/do hands on work as necessary to move the department forward; ideal candidate is both a leader/visionary and willing to take on a hands-on ownership for a small book of innovative clients.


· Continue to develop and grow a best-in-class Performance Analytics team, including building the foundational methodology that will roll out to the entire Agency and our client roster.


· In partnership with leadership and with internal and external vendors, lead the development of advanced analytics and data science solutions for advanced decision-making, embedding, and executing those solutions to ensure they are ROI-positive.


· Presenting to clients and internal stakeholders why data work is essential, the insights revealed by marketing data analytics, and actions that should follow the data analyses.


· Mentoring and management of analytics personnel, ensuring constant improvement in their professional skills, guiding them in the execution of their duties upon request, and essentially readying them for taking up their position in the future.


· Creating, documenting, and cascading an overall strategic direction for analytics that ladders to organizational and functional goals.


REPORTING, MODELING, AND TESTING

· Lead the data, analysis, and reporting projects and provide each client with in-depth target segment profiles, improved KPIs, proactive measurement plans, and performance forecasts.


· Analyze large and complex data sets to solve business challenges, including customer segmentation, targeting models, and marketing mix models that improve effectiveness and efficiency or media campaigns.


· Developing and implementing testing and optimization plans to evaluate current campaigns, including A/B and multivariate testing.


· Support the tracking, analysis, and translation of customer journey data across the lead funnel through the provision of clear and versatile reporting and predictive intelligence from cloud enterprise systems (Adobe Experience, Google). Assist with model recommendations and logic enhancements.


· Determining the adoption of suitable modular toolsets that drive innovation and create an advantage for the business.


Required Skills:

· A bachelor's or master's degree in data science, business marketing or marketing analytics is ideal.


· 10 years experience in an analytical field within a data-driven marketing agency, or e-commerce agency


· 5 years of management experience


· Demonstrated ability in Attribution and Marketing Mix Model deployment and understanding these model constructs at the algorithm level.


· Thorough understanding of database technologies, including the skills to query databases and recognize performance opportunities of reports/queries.


· Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or experience with Python or R


· Own our tools including Tableau, Looker Studio, BigQuery, SuperMetrics, and other Analytics Vendors with BI components. Strong knowledge of GA4 setup and reporting. As well as clean rooms, audience creation, and management partners like LiveRamp, Experian, etc.


· Possess working knowledge of data privacy regulations and the steps necessary to remain compliant with all (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)


· Excellent computer skills and be highly proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote, which will be necessary in creating visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations for departmental heads/management, senior analytics leadership, and key stakeholders.


· Proven understanding of the media buying and targeting process across various advertising platforms


· A candidate for the position must demonstrate exceptionally strong and positive leadership skills, an ability to inspire and lead a cross-functional group in a unified direction with a common vision.
