The Solar Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of solar energy systems. This position involves working closely with other engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality solar solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, specifically solar power, and a passion for sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility of solar installations, including shading analysis and structural evaluations.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, specifications, and layouts for solar energy systems using software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
  • Perform system simulations and energy yield predictions to optimize system performance.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, installers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during the installation, commissioning, and operation of solar energy systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar energy engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in solar design and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope).
  • Strong understanding of electrical and structural engineering principles related to solar PV systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
