Opportunity
Salford University is now looking for a part-time Senior Lecturer in Games Design and Production, to teach and support our ambitious plans for growth and student outcomes.
The successful candidate will have an established academic track record in research and teaching in higher education, as well as relevant industry experience and a passion to work with students from diverse backgrounds. In line with games industry practice, candidates should have experience with agile management methodologies and practice, and creative production abilities. Teaching expertise in some of the following areas is essential: Game Art, Agile Management Practice, Iterative Design and Testing.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience of working in teams to produce interactive content, deep knowledge of games design practice and theory, confident creative problem solving skills, as well as an ability to communicate across art, programming and design disciplines.

We are one of the leading centres for practice-based education in the creative disciplines within the north-west. We pride ourselves on the specialist programmes we offer which benefit from close relationships with industry. A hub of creativity and innovation, our programmes encompass music, dance, design, media, English and performing arts.
Our Arts, Media and Communications Centre delivers research into and across arts, humanities and social sciences. Our research anticipates and supports the needs of our media industry neighbours, such as ITV, BBC and Dock 10, developing high impact technologies.
Our £50million new Adelphi building is home to the next generation of forward-thinking artists, designers, performers, educators, fashion icons, pop-stars, dancers and musicians. We also have a dedicated campus at the heart of MediaCity, one of the country's leading digital and media hubs.

Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and lead in the development and delivery of taught programmes and/or research programmes, with outstanding delivery and support of learning.
- Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and assessment procedures across the breadth or depth of subject area, with appropriate professional recognition and dissemination of good practice via publication.
- Contribute to the reputation of research in the school through national/ international collaboration and publication in peer-reviewed international academic journals and other forms of dissemination in quantities appropriate to discipline, achieving citations, reviews and other forms of peer recognition.
- Mentor colleagues and supervise postgraduate research students as appropriate
