We’re wanting someone to come into this role to analyse potential problems to get a better understanding of them and find a way to promote a fix to solve them to ensure we are fit for the future.

We're seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Asset Engineer (Wastewater Networks) to join our Derby team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying and developing effective solutions to complex wastewater network challenges, ensuring long-term network health and optimal performance.

This is a technical role focused on driving solution development through a data-driven approach. You'll leverage your expertise in wastewater networks, data analysis, and creative problem-solving to translate network challenges into actionable solutions.

What You Need To Know

  • A Data-Driven Approach to Wastewater Network Solutions
  • Data Analysis Expertise: You'll oversee the analysis of collected data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Transforming Data into Solutions: Play a key role in transforming data and modelling insights into innovative system based solutions for wastewater network challenges. This includes developing and evaluating options, conducting feasibility studies, and building strong business cases for identified solutions.
  • Driving Informed Decisions: Play a key role in translating complex technical information into clear and concise communication for Capital Maintenance and Capital investment decision-making. This ensures informed choices are made based on data-driven insights and potential solution effectiveness.
  • Collaboration is Key: Actively participate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to share best practices, identify emerging solutions, and continuously improve wastewater network management strategies.
  • Empower the Team: Provide coaching to junior and mid-level engineers within the tactical planning team, demonstrating a strong understanding of data-driven asset management practices and solution development processes.

Wastewater Network Expertise & Solution Focus

  • Adept in Wastewater Networks: Possess a strong understanding of wastewater network processes, their associated risks and benefits, and effective management strategies.
  • Data Analysis Expertise: Demonstrate a proven track record in collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex wastewater network data.
  • Solution-Oriented Mindset: Be a creative and results-oriented problem solver with a passion for developing innovative solutions to wastewater network challenges.
  • Strong Project skills: Possess a good understanding of cost benefit analysis, and project management lifecycles. This allows you to build compelling business cases for proposed solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excel at presenting complex technical information to various audiences and building productive collaboration within teams.
