Join our dynamic team committed to excellence in process safety management. We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Technical Expert to lead complex problem-solving activities across core end-to-end business processes.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Health and Safety Technical Expert, you will identify and resolve true root causes as part of complicated investigation and improvement projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting the identification, development, and implementation of improvements arising from investigations/projects.

Additionally, you will provide second-line assurance for day-to-day Health, Safety, and Security activities and develop and implement high-risk Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Standards linked to the Risk Assessment Framework.

You'll be the "eyes and ears on the ground" in identifying trends and insight into health and safety performance, providing specific guidance and technical expertise in high-risk subject matter areas.

To excel in this role, you must proactively promote the Severn Trent Group Health and Safety culture, ensuring compliance with Company standards, the Business Strategy, and industry best practices. You'll monitor and interpret Health & Safety performance data to target areas for future improvement and provide assurance to guarantee data integrity and compliance. Stakeholder management, setting expectations, and delivering on promises are also key aspects of this role.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

The successful candidate must have the ability to work and lead within a team, excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written skills, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

You should possess great influencing skills to drive the right activity and level of performance within the business unit and be able to credibly advise, guide, and constructively challenge when needed.

Some Of Your Other Key Accountabilities Will Include

  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, theory, and best practice
  • Stakeholder engagement/management experience at all levels of an organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT for efficient report production
  • Experience in data processing and analysis to produce management information
  • Presentation of information and action needs to all levels of an organisation
