We have an opportunity for you to join our team as a Finance Planning Lead based at our head office in Coventry.

In this commercial finance role we’re gearing up for AMP8 business planning programme and transforming the way we set annual and 5-year investment programmes across our organisation. The role will be central to ensure our £13bn AMP8 investment programme is efficient, aligned to our strategic priorities and adaptable to face into new opportunities that arise.

Another aspect of the role will be controlling costs in AMP8 and be the evolution of our current models to better link our long-term financial forecast to underlying volumetric data around people, energy consumption and chemicals use.

Your team will also oversee the forward expenditure programme working closely with Finance Business Partners and Tactical Asset Planning to provide our regulatory financial modelling teams with detailed, robust financial projections. Your role will work closely with the wider Group FP&A team to ensure a seamless link between in-year reporting, rolling forecasts and the medium-term projection through to 2030.

Key Accountabilities

  • Be the co-ordination point for our Group forward plan including over £13bn of investment in our regulated and non-regulated companies
  • Oversee the consolidation of real price effects forecasts across electricity, gas, chemicals pricing, labour and fuel to support our price/volume analysis
  • Map the expenditure plan through the activities and outputs to understand how our financial plan supports the delivery of the key outcomes for the business.
  • Control the expenditure inputs to financial modelling by ensuring the correct data is provided.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency to feed into the cost transformation workstream.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

To be considered for this role, you must be fully qualified - ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.

Having exposure to senior stakeholder management and being adept in influencing at all levels of a business is essential. The successful candidate will need strong analytical skills that can be used to inform evidence-based decision making. In particular combining non-financial and financial information.
