Director of Piling Operations

We have a rare and unique Director opportunity to join Groundforce (part of the VP plc group) and help shape the future of our Piling Division.

About The Role

Our Piling Director has full P&L responsibility for the Piling division and will report to the Managing Director of Groundforce UK & Ireland. You will have four direct reports including, National Sales Manager, Hire Desk Manager, Operations Manager for depots and the Plant and Logistics Manager and a total team of forty five employees based across five sites.

This is a home based role with requirement to travel throughout the UK

Key Responsibilities

• The strategic development of the Piling division in line with the current three year plan
• Effective sales management of the team with sufficient and focused business development activity for both the Piletec and Mr Cropper brands
• Make sure there is effective operations management across the depot network and national repair centre
• Ensure teams of operatives have the required level of skills, competencies and ability
• Make certain the Hire desk has the effective skill levels and efficient process in place to seamlessly interact with customers, sales and operations teams
• Maintain H&S standards at the highest levels ensuring commercial vehicle compliance is in line with DVSA standards
• Asset management experience to ensure hire fleet utilisation is optimised

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience of managing and being responsible for full P&L
• A natural and people focused leader
• Experience of managing a multi-site operation
• Commercially astute with a proven track record of creating and implementing a successful business strategy
• Technically ‘savvy’ with an understanding of CRM & business IT systems
• Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a diverse team
• Technical aptitude to understand the challenges running a mechanical plant rental business
• Competent relationship management across all levels
• Comfortable with regular travel throughout the UK
