NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.

The Role

Gotham FC is seeking a Pro Player Pathway General Manager that will report to the General Manager (GM). The Pro Player Pathway General Manager will help build a professional women’s soccer development pathway in the United States, while generating homegrown talent that supplies the Gotham FC first team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Gotham FC's pro player pathway strategy and plan, inclusive financial plan, working closely across all club soccer leadership.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with NY/NJ/PA/CT academies as part of the alliance strategy. Look to create select strong relationships with non-NY area academies as well.
  • Build and maintain a strong reputation and relationships with all elite youth clubs and scouts to help drive player identification. Work across soccer leadership on how we evaluate performance for Gotham's reserve and youth teams, as well as a system to track youth players across the US.
  • Create and maintain a tight connection with Gotham FC coaching staff to ensure any reserve or youth team is managed and run consistent with the first team with similar methodologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all other NWSL clubs with reserve and academy teams to ensure we understand and implement all appropriate best practices, play within any NWSL youth structure that is built, and are working within all league and FIFA rules.
  • Build out a strong staff to successfully execute the approved plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a senior member of a professional football club
  • Significant knowledge of NWSL and women's soccer landscape domestically & internationally
  • Have a proven track record in youth and professional player development
  • Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends, including event held on weekends, nights, and holidays, when necessary
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel both domestically & internationally
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational abilities to manage multiple individuals, programs, and priorities, including short-term (event) and long-term planning
  • Ability to manage and communicate with a network of agents and contacts within various levels of soccer, both domestic and abroad
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful (not required)

  • Must possess the ability to communicate, both written and orally, effectively and consistently
  • Knowledge and experience with scouting software / techniques that is utilized within the industry
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and a strategic mindset
  • The ability to foster and build genuine relationships with personnel and players
  • Must be willing and able to work long hours, including weekends and evenings

Location:

This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel. Gotham FC requires its employees to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s office, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.

Job type: Full-time Exempt position

Salary range: $100,000-$145,000 plus benefits
