Description of Duties
This is a high level management position in the Monroe County Department of Parks responsible for directing and performing a multitude of administrative tasks. Duties include directing the department’s budgetary and fiscal activities, directing the departments personnel and human resources activities, overseeing department expenditures, administering contract referrals, operating agreements, formulating related policy and procedure, and disseminating information. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Parks or other higher-level staff member. General supervision is exercised over professional, clerical, and other parks personnel. Does related work as required.

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
- Graduation with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Public Administration, or a closely related field; OR,
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience involving financial management, human resources management, budgeting, accounting, public relations, or communications; OR,
- Graduation with an Associate’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (B) above; OR,
- Seven (7) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (B) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C), and (D) above.
