Packaging Supervisor

Location: East Boston, MA (in the Boston Harbor Shipyard)

Schedule: Full-time, 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday, first shift (7am-3pm), second shift (3pm-11pm), third shift (11pm-7am)

*Availability for at least 2 of the 3 shifts is required for consideration, bonus points for full 3 shift availability*

Mission of the role:

Manage and direct a shift of packaging operators focusing on safety, quality and efficiency. Help drive improvement in the department with an emphasis on training and development. Oversee and lead a designated shift of packaging operators while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency. Continuously foster department improvement through training and communication.

The Packaging team plays an essential role on the rapidly growing team at Downeast Cider, the #1 craft hard cider brand in the Northeast and #2 hard cider in the country. The packaging team is fully responsible for the operation of our canning line and our kegging station. Our equipment is extremely fast (267 cans per minute!) and running it requires a quick mind and ability to perform repetitive tasks. Sometimes we need to hit a deadline or empty a tank, and we don't leave until we cross the finish line. We look for optimistic team members who choose positivity and humor and crush work, even in difficult situations.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe work environment for all employees on the floor

Execute canning and kegging operations according to departmental SOPs

Help drive departmental efficiency through training, projects, and scheduling

Maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment

Be an ambassador for the brand

Qualifications:

Must-have:

2 years experience in a packaging/manufacturing department (with bottling/canning experience)

Nice to have:

Bachelor's degree

Supervisory or lead experience

Alcoholic beverage experience

Forklift experience
