Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or certification in orthotics and prosthetics is a plus.
Training and Experience: Previous experience in DME or a related field in a medical setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of prefabricated orthotics is strongly preferred.
Job Knowledge : Must have excellent communication skills and be highly organized. Must pay attention to detail and have the ability to follow instructions accurately. Must have physical dexterity and the ability to work with various materials and tools.

Description
An orthotic and prosthetic assistant will assist orthotists and prosthetists in providing support to individuals with physical disabilities or injuries. He or She will play a crucial role in supporting our certified orthotists and prosthetists in the design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of orthotic and prosthetic devices. As an assistant, he or she will work closely with patients and the orthotic and prosthetic team to ensure the best possible care and outcomes. He or she must be self-directed, able to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and have excellent interpersonal / customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
Maintains good physical and emotional well-being. Job responsibilities may require a considerable amount of physical work. Position may require sitting, walking, bending, pushing, and lifting of up to 50
