On-Call Community Support Specialist - Alternatives

Position: Community Support Specialist

Shift: On-Call

Department: Residential (Alternatives)

Salary Range: $21.54/hour - $28.71/hour. We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements).

Position Requirements: High school diploma/equivalency preferred and at least one-year experience working with individuals with mental health needs. Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.

Summary

Provides direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues who reside in the agency residential facilities. Community Support Specialists teach activities of daily living: housekeeping, cooking, personal hygiene, and personal finance. Must have the knowledge/abilities to model appropriate interpersonal/vocational skills/behaviors. Able to deal effectively with high stress situations, handle unusual human behavior, resolve conflict. Reliable transportation, good driving record, valid driver’s license, and proof of current automobile insurance.
