Ministry Advancement Convention Coordinator

The Ministry Advancement Convention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating FCA's ministry programs and operations at organizational conventions. The primary focus of this position is to strategize and execute ministry programs at organizational conventions. This role is designed to develop strategies, create structure, and implement systems for ministry programs throughout the organization. The Ministry Advancement Convention Coordinator intentionally serves FCA Convention Leaders and staff to spur on ever-increasing discipleship opportunities.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission, and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

Role Responsibilities

  • Advance ministry at national conventions
  • Develop strategy and create structure to grow ministry at national conventions (specifically coaches conventions)
    • Understand purpose and potential of ministry programs and how they align to individuals' discipleship journeys
    • Recognize needs of convention constituents (coaches, athletes, administrators, etc.) and determine effective ways to meet those needs
    • Align all conventions with FCA standards while meeting specific needs of each individual convention
    • Improve current systems and procedures to become more efficient
    • Creatively curate new ventures, systems, or opportunities to advance ministry effectiveness
  • Oversee operations for national conventions and corresponding convention teams
    • Serve as a key representative on behalf of FCA organizationally with constituents, conventions, partners, etc.
    • Plan high-level, reproducible ministry events
    • Work with association/convention representatives for logistical planning including rental reservations, program planning, etc.
    • Organize, pack, and ship inventory from warehouse alongside warehouse staff
    • Collaborate with other Support Center departments and staff to facilitate unified support
    • Work with key vendors to coordinate details including product procurement, shipping, awards, etc.
    • Ensure each convention is outfitted with necessary resources, marketing materials, and FCA Gear
    • Ensure proper stewardship of finances including forecasting, budgeting, vendor payments, and expense reports
  • Lead convention teams and Convention Leaders
    • Lead national convention teams by assisting in the planning and executing of ministry programs at conventions
    • Travel to attend approximately 6 - 10 national conventions each year to support and evaluate teams
    • Effectively train convention teams through webinars, in-person gatherings, and individual consultation
    • Vet candidates and help in decision-making for Convention Leader openings
  • Advance convention / clinic ministry for organizational implementation
    • Develop strategy and create structure to grow ministry at conventions/clinics at international, national, regional, and local levels
    • Construct systems and support mechanisms to provide field staff everything needed to minister effectively at conventions/clinics
    • Serve as primary contact for field staff implementation needs
    • Work with other Support Center departments to prepare and deploy effective organizational rollout and sustained growth plan
