Candidates must have strong experience in a manufacturing environment with both mechanical and electronic assembly with a minimum of 5,000 SKUs.


Salary: $180K-$200K 10% Bonus & Excellent Benefits


Materials Director Responsibilities:

- Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire supply chain process, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.

- Forecasting and Planning: Develop and implement strategies for forecasting demand, inventory planning, and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials while minimizing costs.

- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with global suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements and ensure quality and reliability of materials.

- Inventory Control: Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess or obsolete stock, and ensure accurate tracking of materials.

- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of materials management professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational goals.

- Cost Management: Monitor and analyze costs associated with materials procurement, transportation, and inventory management. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement cost-effective solutions.

- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the materials management function, identifying opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and cost reductions.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as production, sales, finance, and quality assurance to ensure alignment of materials management activities with overall business objectives.


Materials Director Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.

- Proven experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain leadership roles in a manufacturing environment with both mechanical and electronic assembly with a minimum of 5,000 SKUs.

- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and procurement strategies.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

- Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant software for materials management and procurement.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to materials management and procurement.
