Position Overview

The Manager of Arena Ticketing will manage day-to-day operations of the Arena Ticket Office department using Ticketmaster software for arena events and special concerts at Spectrum Center. You will collaborate with local and national promoters (Live Nation, AEG, Feld Entertainment, etc.) to ensure accuracy and excellent client relations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage the hiring, training (departmental and organizational), scheduling, and day-to-day supervision of Ticket Office personnel.
  • Ensure all Ticket Office personnel adheres to the company’s ticket operations policies and procedures.
  • Organize and oversee nightly Ticket Office operations during events.
  • Create a positive and collaborative working environment and maintain staff morale.
  • Maintain a high level of guest service, resolve in person and phone customer service issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate and Manage event Group Sales to ensure all ticketing needs are addressed.
  • Build and maintain events, including working directly with promoters on scaling, building, and running successful presales/on sales.
  • Assist tour personnel and internal staff, as necessary, with event programming, reporting, ticket holds and other ticketing details.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all critical internal parties to ensure accurate completion of ticket counts, event builds, inventory management, will call, guest list, and all other Ticket Office processes leading up to the actual event
  • Access to a variety of information and data from Ticketmaster, as well as confidential event and financial information. Employee will be expected to use excellent judgment and discretion daily both in the performance of his/her duties as well as the supervision and guidance of others.

Required Skills, Experience And Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you will have or demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Sports Management, Economics, Business, or Accounting
  • 2-3 years experience with Ticketmaster (both classic and Archtics platform)
  • Experience with ticketing, specifically arena/entertainment ticketing operations to include event building, settlement and promoter relations is preferred
  • Ability to relate to customers and staff in a positive manner and display attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of live event ticketing and management as well as sports and arena management
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequently changing work environment, and deliver on challenging demands
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to maintain confidentiality, listens to others, and willing to try new ideas
  • Excellent critical reasoning skills with the proven ability to partner across functionally and effectively build links
  • Ability to drive toward specific goals and results
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Delivers work by or ahead of deadline and thrives within a fast paced environment
  • Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Available to work a variable schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and all Arena events
