Instructional Specialist -- Remote | WFH

Position Purpose

You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing student performance within Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes. Collaborating closely with CTE teachers, your primary objective is to elevate instruction quality and facilitate the seamless implementation of the CTE curriculum. By providing technical assistance, support, and professional development opportunities, you'll contribute significantly to improving student outcomes and fostering a dynamic learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Apps.

Familiarity with current instructional improvement practices and challenges within CTE.

Understanding of the NC Teacher Evaluation instrument and its application in enhancing instruction.

Knowledge of best practices for supporting new and experienced CTE educators.

Ability to integrate core academic standards into the CTE curriculum effectively.

Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.

Proficiency in integrating instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Aptitude for planning and delivering professional development sessions for educators.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.

Education, Training, And Experience

Bachelor's Degree and valid North Carolina license in any Career and Technical Program Area.

Minimum of five years of recent experience as a CTE teacher or in a relevant professional support role.

Certification or eligibility for a North Carolina professional educator's license in Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in developing and delivering professional learning sessions on topics such as curriculum development, data analysis, or literacy.

Familiarity with adult learning theory and experience in working with adult learners.

Proficiency in utilizing online collaboration tools.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Ensure CTE teachers have access to appropriate curriculum resources and instructional management tools.

Support educators in utilizing data to inform instruction, including data interpretation, goal setting, lesson planning, and assessment development.

Provide tailored professional development sessions to enhance instruction quality, covering areas such as core academic standards integration, differentiation, and instructional technology.

Assist in administering and evaluating CTE Proofs of Learning.

Contribute to the development, monitoring, and enhancement of CTE Performance Indicators and goals.

Offer guidance and support to new and lateral entry CTE teachers through various initiatives, including the facilitation of Beginning Teacher Institute and coaching sessions.

Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

This position operates primarily in an office and educational setting, utilizing standard office equipment. Occasional interaction with school system staff, external agencies, and the community may be required. The role involves light physical exertion, occasionally requiring the handling of automotive equipment.
