The Grants Assistant will provide administrative support in the implementation of vital public safety, preparedness, and health-related federal grants across Massachusetts.
Job Roles
- The temporary Grants Assistant will support the development and implementation of federally funded projects that serve to advance emergency preparedness and homeland security efforts across the client.
- This is a position where attention to detail is key.
- Duties involve work in the purchase and contract execution of various supplies, equipment, and professional consulting services required by the client.
- The Assistant will also work with other members of the Municipal Collaboration team to ensure the completion of all mandated reporting requirements for the Client.
- Assist members of the client Collaboration team with the public procurement and contract execution process for all homeland security and client grant-funded projects including:
- Drafting procurement documents.
- Vendor research and outreach.
- Processing of purchase orders and contracts.
- Assist in data entry related to homeland security and client grant reporting requirements, as well as provided inventory tracking support.
- Assist in the review and processing of vendor invoices and requests from municipal departments for backfill and overtime reimbursement.
- Provide administrative, general office, system, and project support to the client Municipal Collaboration Team.
- Candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant work experience. The successful applicant will demonstrate all or most of the following skills:
- Time management and organizational skills;
- Understanding of multi-step processes and how to work within them in a team environment;
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
- A professional demeanor and a positive "can do" attitude, with high customer service standards;
- Willingness to perform administrative functions as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and database management; and
- Advanced computer skills, including working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe.
