Data Collection Specialist (Asset Tagging)


CEG is seeking a Contract Data Collection Specialist to support our client who is providing dynamic solutions dedicated to optimizing asset management solutions for their clients. They specialize in helping businesses efficiently track and manage their valuable assets, providing them with the tools and expertise needed to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.


The Contract Data Collection Specialist (Asset Tagging) will play a crucial role in the efficient and accurate tracking and labeling of assets for our clients. Your responsibilities will include labeling, documenting, and maintaining asset information to ensure seamless asset management processes.


Although not anticipated, this position may require interstate travel for up to 3-weeks at a time. Travel costs incurred within pre-set budgets will be either paid for by the employer up front or reimbursed in full.


Contract Details


Summary: The Data Collection Specialist will be responsible for performing data aggregation and placing QR codes of facility equipment and data entry utilizing web-based programs. In the future, this role could result in additional contract or full-time positions.


Contract Start/End: July 15, 2024 - mid December 2024 (Potential for Extension)


Location: Primarily Western Washington with Potential for Interstate Travel


Work Schedule: M-F, 7:00am - 4:00pm (Potential Schedule to Change to 4 10-hr Shifts)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical assessment walk-through surveys of major building equipment and systems to determine the scope of asset tagging on each site.
  • Provide photographic documentation of equipment tags, data tags, and document observations.
  • Apply QR codes to identified equipment using appropriate labeling methods and tools.
  • Utilize web-based asset management software to enter asset information, including equipment details and QR code data.
  • Conduct regular physical audits of assets to verify their presence, condition, and location, and update records accordingly.
  • Ensure accuracy of asset information against survey findings and photographic documentation.
  • Correct any discrepancies or errors in the tagging and data entry process.
  • Ability to use and skillfully operate an iPhone or electronic tables (project dependent) efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.
  • Maintain project-by-project communication with Lead and Senior Project Manager and keep them informed of any actual or potential problems, including access or delivery issues.
  • The onsite asset tagging involves walking for most of an 8- to 10-hour workday and up to 3 to 4 continuous hours at one time.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client’s needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Qualifications:


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School diploma required.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.


Other Qualifications

  • Previous experience in asset tagging, facilities management, or related fields is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using web-based asset management software and data entry tools is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to use and skillfully operate an iPhone or electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.


Physical Demands:

  • Stand or walk (for most of an 8- to 10-hour workday and up to 3 to 4 continuous hours at one time)
  • Climb steps.
  • Climb ladders to get onto roofs.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to read equipment data plates.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
