About The Team
Production is always one step ahead. While a lot of functions are responsible for responding to moments in the here and now, this team is always looking towards the future. From finessing the production of our silhouettes to developing new materials, our production gurus work hand-in-hand with our factory team to make sure the wheels of Rothy’s keep turning on our quest for a more sustainable future.
Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Director of Production will lead key strategic initiatives to deliver high quality products on time. This role oversees the production process and operations, capacity planning with our factory, materials management, achieving GM targets, the go-to-market calendar, and our PLM system. The Director will lead the Production team and work closely with cross-functional counterparts locally as well as at the Factory in China. A successful candidate will grow the capabilities of our current processes, systems, and calendars to meet the needs of continuous operational improvement for Rothy’s partners in San Francisco, China and future OEMs.
What You’ll Do
Production Planning and Execution:
Responsible for on-time delivery and quality of all production orders for Footwear and Accessories
Responsible for ensuring forecasts are delivered on time for annual/monthly capacity planning and adjust plans as needed
Lead capacity planning activities in collaboration with the factory
Managing all PO’s for on time delivery and achieving MOT goals
Manage the chase process, calendars and orders (flexing on planning to meet business demands)
Implement and enforce quality control standards to meet company standards
Identify and mitigate potential risks in the production process
Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges in the supply chain
Responsible for material management including strategies minimize excess materials
Collaborate with product development teams for seamless introduction of new products
Ensure that production processes are scalable to accommodate new product lines
Go-to-Market (GTM) Calendars
Develop, maintain and drive adherence to GTM calendar for Product Design, CAD, PD, Merchandising, Merch Planning and Production teams. Focus on continuous improvement and driving efficiencies
Serve as the linchpin that binds our team’s collaborative efforts together
Develop and maintain Chase calendars for HQ teams
Drive cross-functional milestones meetings, project schedules, workflows, and project status reporting
Focus on continuous improvement and efficiency in processes
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Platform
Define user requirements for the PLM platform and ensure adherence to process and due dates
Translate user requirements into functional specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Work towards continuous improvement to ensure we are using the full capacity
Explore opportunities to integrate technology for improved efficiency and quality
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Design, CAD, PD, Merchandising, Merch Planning Teams to ensure all deliverables are met to deliver product on time
Partner with Sustainability team to ensure reduced environmental impact in our production and sourcing practices
Understand cross functional business needs and deliverables to keep all teams informed of deliveries and/or changes
Attend leadership meetings
Operations Processes
Oversee operations processes supporting Footwear production and Accessories product development
Manage purchase orders, product master data, annual budgeting, and production materials
Team Leadership
Lead the Production team through proactive and consistent communication
Provide feedback to drive accountability, effectiveness, and development of direct reports

You Have
Advanced understanding of PLM/ERP system functionality
Certification in PMP is preferred; or equivalent work experience
Experience making meaningful contributions to strategic and operational decisions
A commitment to identifying department patterns/trends and building optimal department policies and processes
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Strong capacity for Change Management to support transformational activities
Confidence reporting to the Executive team, Product Development leadership and other stakeholders on the progress of ongoing programs and operational KPI’s

Pay Range
$196,000 - $231,000 annually
Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
