CIE Tours is seeking an experienced Website Manager with proven track record to oversee the optimization, development, and ongoing maintenance of our company's ecommerce storefront: cietours.com.


Reporting to the Director of Digital & CRM, the Website Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the online user experience while maximizing customer engagement, evaluating and managing performance, and handling the day-to-day operations of content and booking path updates. In this role, you will manage a roadmap of improvements to the user experience, merchandising our products effectively online, and ensuring our booking path is a best-in-class experience. You will update website content, identifying new content needs to increase engagement, driving merchandising planning, implementing landing pages for new products and promotional campaigns, and improving the booking flow to drive conversions and increase revenue.


You will monitor web traffic, performance, and capacity to identify, prevent, and resolve issues. You will work within the technical framework of our Drupal content management system and work with our website development agency and IT as they manage the configuration and development of this system. You will gain an understanding how our product information flows from our back-end system, Softrip, to our front-end experience and work with our IT and product teams to ensure that our product offerings are presented online in the best way possible. You will manage special projects as determined by you and your manager and you will manage agree-upon yearly goals that inure to your own and the company’s success.


Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment to understand evolving business needs, emerging web technologies, UX best practices, customer needs, and prioritization principles that will allow CIE Tours to maximize its investments in website capabilities. Successfully driving the continuous improvement of functionality and content will include a constant watch on competitor websites and top ecommerce sites, staying abreast of new usability and interface conventions, while meeting the needs of our ongoing promotional campaigns and product updates.

Top candidates will be comfortable troubleshooting, managing resources, and finding ways to continually improve the user experience. The person in this position will be required to learn and understand Softrip, the ecommerce engine of cietours.com, and how it interacts with the website platform throughout the user journey.


This position is highly collaborative, but also requires someone who can work independently and prioritize their workload. Must be comfortable working with technical systems and troubleshooting web issues, which may require after-hour work. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize requests strategically are the keys to success in this role. Working with IT, Marketing and Contact Center teams, you will monitor, optimize and report on web traffic and performance while also identifying, tracking, and resolving business needs and issues.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-8 years’ experience managing an ecommerce website including hands-on use of a content management system, conducting site analysis to ensure peak performance and conversion, establishing user testing to improve site flow and driving traffic into the ecommerce engine.
  • Strong knowledge of website management, including CMS platforms (Drupal is highly preferred) and web analytics tools (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager a must).
  • Strong knowledge of ecommerce interfaces, experiences, and conventions with a proven track-record for increasing customer engagement and growing online revenue.
  • Solid understanding of user experience (UX) principles and the ability to apply them to website design and functionality.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and experience implementing SEO strategies to improve organic search performance.
  • Proficiency in website design and website maintenance, on a page level, use-case level, and universal website level.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines, experience with AA or AAA Web Accessibility rated sites a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive while managing projects in a virtual environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proactive work ethic with track record of identifying technical or content issues before anyone else and great follow-through to issue resolution.
  • Experience with web content A/B testing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in website management, UX/UI. Familiarity with developing trends such as AI.
  • Fluent in software PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, XML/JSON, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency across the website.
  • Proficient with technical translation abilities for communicating to non-technical executives.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
