Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution

Ale-8-One Bottling Company is seeking qualified candidates for our SVP of Sales & Distribution position. This individual oversees all sales and distribution of the Ale-8-One and allied brand beverages. This position is a critical member of the Executive Leadership Team, supports Ale-8-One and allied brand beverages. This position is a critical member of the Executive Leadership Team, supports Ale-8-One's mission, vision and values, and reports directly to the CEO. Key Responsibilities Include

  • Grow profitable sales volume in a competitive industry.
  • Build out our distribution network, both DSD and warehouse / 3rd party.
  • Hire, train, develop, hold accountable, and propose base and incentive compensation for sales department staff, building a highly effective sales team.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, safety, and fun in a family friendly, team-oriented environment.
  • Ensure excellent customer service, safety, and high-quality merchandising within our own distribution territory.
  • Manage and contain distribution costs while maintaining customer service. Maximize routes, balancing customer service with efficiency, profitability, and employee retention.
  • Identify / evaluate sales training, technology, and other sales tools to make sales department ever more effective, including approving annual Look of Success for coolers, displays, shelf sets and vendors.
  • Build personal relationships with key accounts and distributors, maintaining a proactive, visible relationship with entire customer base. Respond to all appropriate customer inquiries and requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Treat all customers (both internal and external) with dignity, respect, courtesy and kindness.
  • Develop Sales Department annual budget and manage Sales Department Actual vs. Budgeted P&L, providing rolling 90-day forecasts to planning and finance departments.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing / Procurement / Packaging departments to develop profitable promotional programs and generate product development ideas to evaluate
  • Oversee outside distribution relationships to maximize profitable sales growth of a vertically integrated brand owner.
  • Identify inefficiencies and create and implement processes and procedures to address those inefficiencies.

Special Conditions: This position is an on-site, in person position five days a week. The candidate must live within 45 miles of the facility in Winchester, KY. Some travel is required. Must agree to and be willing to sign a non-disclosure, non-compete and non-solicitation agreement.

This is a full time, senior level management position with a competitive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, company paid life insurance and company paid long term and short-term disability insurance. Benefits also include 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with a company match and vacation time. This is an exempt, salaried position.

Key Requirements

  • 5-7 years sales management experience.
  • Experience and strong relationships, preferably in growing NA beverages.
  • Experience managing, growing, and building out sales distribution networks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven sales manager and leader, capable of coaching, inspiring and holding people accountable.
  • Demonstrated excellence building effective sales teams.
  • Experience developing successful pricing and promotional strategies for key accounts and markets.
  • Experience developing and managing actual vs. budgeted P&L.
  • Great listener and leader.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate sales performance, pricing strategies, distribution routes, cost to serve, etc.
  • Outstanding at working cross-functionally, communicating well and often and building a strong, team-oriented culture.
