This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by Emanuel Preparatory School of Math and Science in Midland, Ga. AmeriCorps VISTA is a National Service program. All AmeriCorps VISTA positions are full-time hours for one calendar year, as mandated by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will help this population break the cycle of poverty associated with societal barriers and lack of access to needed resources and support. Responsibilities include: 1) Developing partnerships with STEM- related businesses. 2) Assisting to enhance STEM curriculum, Health & PE curriculum, and Art curriculum; providing training for teachers in STEM education 3) Creating opportunities for STEM businesses and students to learn more about opportunities for future employment. 4) Other Activities include coordinating volunteer efforts; tracking student progress; collecting and organizing student, classroom, and school data; requesting donations and writing grants; social media, and creating educational programs for students and their families to identify goals to succeed in school.
