Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Department Manager to join our team. As the Electrical Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects and the financial success of the department. This will be your department to run and manage. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the specified requirements. This role requires excellent project management, business acumen, technical expertise, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Department Financials: Be responsible for the overall profit and loss of the department. This will be their business to run with all the financial and HR infrastructure of an existing thriving business that is Brooks Building Solutions.
  • Sales: Provide labor projections and cost projections as required. Perform a thorough review of all project contracts, specs, and drawings. Lead the Submittal process.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the team to define project objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Execution: Coordinate and manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options without compromising project objectives. Prepare monthly billings, follow up on payment status.
  • Scope Management: Manage project changes and variations, including scope changes, schedule adjustments, and contract modifications. Assess the impact of changes and communicate with stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • People Management : Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.


Quality Assurance : Ensure that all project deliverables meet Brooks and specified quality standards and adhere to relevant industry codes and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance, Address any deficiencies promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Relevant certifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and end-users.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.
