• Administering the U. S. Steel safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
• Directly supervising union employees and fostering productive relationships with vendors and contractors.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders to effectively assign duties to workers.
• Coordinating, organizing, and directing the activities of maintenance crews.
• Assisting workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Overseeing inventories of required spares for efficient operations.
• Coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance with a team of mechanical/electrical maintenance staff.
  
  

Your Role

• Utilizing technical knowledge, equipment documentation, and safety procedures to develop and improve preventative maintenance programs.
• Implementing cost-saving strategies and methods to eliminate maintenance problems and enhance product quality.
• Performing administrative tasks such as crew scheduling, report completion, safety conversations, and other necessary compliance activities.
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising crews in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor of Science or Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Electrical Maintenance, or similar program, or equivalent experience in a large industrial/maintenance environment.
• Experience in supervising unionized employees or comparable military leadership experience.
