As we expand our business and influence, we are excited to announce the creation of a Field Sales organization that will be instrumental in shaping and executing our sales strategies across our regional markets.

As the Director of Region Sales and Service at DICK'S Sporting Goods, you will be at the forefront of driving our sales vision and strategies in the regional markets. This role is not just about overseeing sales; it's about creating and executing a locally relevant sales strategy that resonates with each unique region. You will lead a team of approximately 2-3 area managers, working closely with the regional leadership team to craft tactics and enhance sales capabilities that make a tangible impact on our revenue and growth targets. Your role is critical in aligning store execution with company-wide objectives, ensuring that our brick-and-mortar locations are not just meeting but exceeding performance expectations. Your leadership will be pivotal in transforming how sales are conducted and experienced in our stores, making a lasting impact on the company's growth trajectory.

Position Responsibilities

  • Strategic Execution: Lead the successful implementation and execution of our sales strategy. This involves identifying barriers, advocating for resources, and enhancing sales capabilities to bolster store performance. Analyze strategy effectiveness and develop follow-up actions. Conduct thorough reviews post major sales events to refine future strategies.
  • Leadership and Development: Provide exceptional leadership to a team of 2-3 area managers, fostering a culture of high performance and growth. Influence Regional Vice Presidents and other leaders to adopt sales-driving behaviors. Offer guidance, coaching, and development to ensure the achievement of sales targets.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the consistent and effective execution of sales strategies across all retail locations in your region. Deliver market-specific tactics and operational insights to drive success. Analyze customer purchasing trends and store performance, providing actionable insights.
  • Strategic Planning and Support: Inform and develop structural components to enhance sales strategy execution. Focus on aspects like training, role design, communication, marketing, and engagement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Director of Region Sales and Service at DICK'S Sporting Goods will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, coupled with a minimum of 7 years in sales leadership roles. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in strategic planning and successful execution, someone who has demonstrated excellence in leadership and team management.
