Our client is looking for a Pediatric Clinical Psychologist to work with pediatric populations who experience mental or physical health problems. These may include patients exhibiting anxiety and depression; serious and enduring mental illness; adjustment to physical illness; neurological disorders; addictive behaviors; eating disorders; behavior disorders; personal and family relationship problems, attention deficits, and learning disabilities.
This role is responsible for:
Assessing patients' needs, abilities, or behavior using various methods, including psychometric tests, interviews, and direct observation of behavior
Devising and monitoring appropriate programs of treatment and providing therapy for difficulties related to psychiatric disorders, addictions, social and interpersonal problems, challenging behavior, and other behavioral or emotional problems
Providing consultation to other professionals working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Consulting with other professionals to evaluate patients' medical or physical condition and assess client needs
Referring patients or families/caregivers to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement, or education
Providing crisis intervention and counseling patients and their families/caregivers in individual and group sessions
Advocating on behalf of the patient and family/caregivers on medical treatment and other services
Monitoring, evaluating, and recording patient progress according to goals described in a treatment plan
Identifying environmental impediments to patient progress through interviews and review of patient records
Organizing support groups or counseling family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting patients or their family/caregivers
Counseling patients regarding substance use and referring clients to community or social service programs
Planning and conducting programs to combat social problems, prevent substance misuse, or improve community health and counseling services
Overseeing Medicaid-related paperwork and recordkeeping within the practice
Identifying child abuse cases and taking authorized protective action when necessary
Maintaining client records
Ensuring regular and routine onsite attendance
Performing all other duties as assigned
This position reports to:

The ideal candidate will have:
PhD in Clinical Psychology (Required)
Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical psychology (Required)
Minimum of 4 years of experience with pediatrics (Preferred)
Licensed Psychologist in the State of Michigan, LLPC (Required)
Responsibilities:
Assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in pediatric patients
Developing and implementing treatment plans
Providing psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
Educating patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
Participating in continuing education to stay current with best practices in psychology
Ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant laws and regulations.
Degree:
PhD in Clinical Psychology
Software Experience:
Knowledge of EMR systems
Management Experience:
Knowledge of business and leadership principles (budgeting, scheduling, procuring & allocating resources)
