SUMMARY: Mid-level personnel will monitor changes and critical conditions related to computer databases and operating systems, and provide customer support as required. In addition, they will learn how to perform problem analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills for all customer products supported by Navisite including SQL, Oracle, Windows and UNIX/LINUX.

Job Requirements

Experience with SQL Server and Oracle is required

An attention to detail, but also the ability to see the bigger picture

The candidate should be interested in learning and working with database management systems such as Oracle and SQL Server

IT College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience

2 years of hands-on experience in the IT field preferred

2 Years Of Customer Service-related Experience Preferred

Ability to assimilate information from many different sources including mentoring, independent study, written materials and online training

Enthusiasm to learn new technologies

Ability and desire to learn at a rapid pace

Understand the importance of following internal and customer procedures

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Provide detailed monitoring of Oracle, SQL Server, and other server platforms

Database and Operating System troubleshooting and problem resolution to environments including, but not limited to, SQL, Oracle, Windows and UNIX/LINUX

Effectively communicate with customers using both written and verbal communications

Follow internal and customer standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Respond to pages within time determined by SLA, handle entry level database tasks for Oracle and SQL Server, escalate all other pages to appropriate person (training provided for database tasks)

Promptly and accurately bill (internally and externally) for all work activities

Responsible for driving customer satisfaction by continuing to deliver support excellence with your willingness to listen, understand, and anticipate our customers’ needs

Assume accountability for service reliability

Additional duties as assigned

Education And/Or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree from a four- year college or technical school; or one to two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Technology (IT).
