We’re looking to strengthen the team, creating a new Technical Manager role to lead the Design & Development team at Next Furniture Manufacturing. Our CAD Technicians, Development Upholsterers and Design Assistants interpret and prototype new products turning the initial design into reality.
As a strong people manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of the sofa manufacturing operation.
You’ll be responsible for collaborating with the Head Office buying teams to understand their design requirements and timelines, ensuring that the requirements are achievable and leading your team to meet these objectives.
You and your team are responsible for the initial design review, product sampling, management of technical information and ensuring product quality & compliance.
It is essential we produce every product to the highest standards, fully adhering to legal and ethical guidelines. You will ensure that we have the necessary knowledge and processes in place to achieve compliance in order to ensure we maintain our British Kite Mark accreditation.
About you
As Technical Manager within Manufacturing, you will be able to communicate clearly and effectively; you’ll be working with a diverse range of stakeholders including product technologists, buyers and internal operations colleagues. A proven ability to build strong working relationships and the confidence to influence at all levels is essential.
Leading by example, you’ll have proven management skills teamed with strong technical skills in CAD/CAM software packages such as Solidworks, Lectra or Alphacam gained in a similar technical management role. Good PC literacy skills and key, notably Google Suite (sheets, docs) or MS Excel and Word.
