Autism Support Co-Ordinator

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within specialist secondary care services to provide specialist support, advice, and information to autistic adults (ASC) and their families and carer’s. To work collaboratively with commissioners and professionals across Trafford. To contribute to service development and ensure service delivery to all autistic adults, with and without Learning Disabilities.

Provide a specialist secondary service to support individuals with ASC, colleagues, and other stakeholders in relation to ensuring delivery of the Adult Autism Strategy and the provision of quality services for adults with ASC

To assist co-ordination of work across local teams and agencies, acting as a key focus for all organisations, user groups and planning forums concerned with ASC

As The Project Officer Providing Support And Regular Reports To The Trafford Multi-agency Autism Strategy Group And The Lead Commissioner/s – Autism. Supporting The Commissioners To

share information about the needs of adults locally (including education, employment, training, housing, children’s services etc) and help inform identification of gaps in provision and the development of the local autism plan

support local arrangements for leadership in relation to the provision of services to adults with ASC enabling local partners to develop relevant services to meet need

agree plans for increasing awareness and understanding of autism

facilitate the assessment of the needs of adults with autism for relevant services and the identification of adults with ASC

Support the development of a clear, consistent pathway for diagnosis and the provision of a range of services for diagnosing ASC in adults.

Improve access for adults with ASC to the services and support they need

Plan to ensure relevant services are available to people with ASC during transition

Signpost adults with ASC into work
