THE ROLE

Interested in working for a fast growing international retail company?

We are looking for a Junior Retail Financial Controller who is able to set priorities in a fast-paced environment, work independently, has a background in Retail and is fluent in English.

In this role you will report to the Retail Financial Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Month End-closings and Year-End-closing of Retail assigned legal entities;
• Reviews journal entries ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting methods including prepayments and accruals;
• Monthly reviews of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts and makes sure that significative discrepancies are investigated;
• Coordinates and leads the yearly statutory financial statement preparation and audits for each assigned entities;
• Maintains the reporting and compliance calendars to ensure timely and accurate reporting and liaise with key stakeholders (internal and external);
• Key reviewer of internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements;
• Works closely with the retail team and other stakeholders to share reports and analysis findings, with a business partner mindset;
• Develops and implements applicable analytical tools and other improvements of processes and flows;
  
  
  

THE PROFILE:

• Min. of 5 years of experience in related fields; experience in the retail sector is highly desirable;
• University degree in Business Administration/Finance/Controlling or other related fields;
• Proven knowledge of setting up analysis and monitoring processes and internal controls;
• Experience in people management
• Strong analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources and an innovative mindset for improvement opportunities;
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interfacing with key stakeholders in English;
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines;
• Ability to work in a matrix organization and to adapt in a consistently changing environment and among different management levels of the organization;
• Good understanding of IT systems, excellent MS office skills (especially Excel) and business intelligence tools;
