HouR client, a leading printing company in Canada, is looking for an experienced IT System Administrator who would be involved in overseeing, maintaining, and enhancing their information technology infrastructure.
 

With over 22 years of industry experience, HouR client is dedicated to transforming the printing and packaging landscape. Their dynamic team of 150 employees achieved $40 million in sales revenue, serving 20,000 North American customers. The role involves ensuring efficient and secure hardware, software, networks, and systems operation.

 

The primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and secure operation of hardware, software, networks, and systems that underpin daily operations.

They are looking for an IT professional with strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Information Technology:

  • Install, configure, and upkeep servers, hardware, software, and network components to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, implement solutions, and offer technical support as required.

  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls for systems and applications.

  • Conduct routine system backups, updates, and patches to maintain data integrity and safeguard against potential threats.

  • Work collaboratively with other IT professionals and cross-functional teams to support project implementation and ongoing maintenance.

  • Develop, document, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient operations.

  • Train and mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.

  • Serve as the point of contact for IT-related issues, delivering prompt and efficient resolutions.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including data protection and privacy laws.

 

General and Administrative:

  • Maintain clear and regular communication with the President, Management Team, and team members, providing updates on IT-related matters.

  • Collaborate closely with the Production Team to offer support as necessary.

  • Follow established systems and procedures outlined in SinaLite's Procedure Manual.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

What they are looking for

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a similar role.

  • Relevant certifications (preferred), such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 2 years of experience in Google Workspace administration.

  • Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewall and VPN Clients with Duo is advantageous.

  • 2 years of client-facing experience

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, mainly Windows and Linux, as well as networking concepts and protocols.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and various IT tools, including remote monitoring and management (RMM) systems.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python is advantageous.

  • Experience with database management and administration, including SQL and NoSQL systems.

  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing multiple tasks and projects.
