What type of person will be successful?
The ideal candidate is a seasoned legal professional with a minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Senior Legal Counsel, holding legal qualifications and an Australian practicing certificate.
Success in this role also requires excellent communication, high integrity, and the ability to build trust with senior executives and business partners.
Experience in M&A and Property Projects portfolios, along with a commitment to their values and mission, will ensure success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day delivery of legal services
Provide strategic legal advice and support to senior stakeholders
Identify and manage legal risks and regulatory requirements
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal function
Support major projects, including strategic growth and regulatory change
Develop and oversee compliance, governance, and procurement frameworks
Mentor and supervise junior team members
Deliver legal training to staff
Qualifications and Experience:
Legal qualifications and current Australian practicing certificate
Minimum of 8 years’ experience
Experience in governance, company secretarial practice, corporate M&A, and property projects
Strong analytical, negotiation, drafting, and legal research skills
Proven ability to lead a legal team and manage a broad range of legal work
Highly developed relationship-building skills and business acumen
Superior communication skills and high ethical standards
