PRIMARY FUNCTION: Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated Unit with primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration.

- Establish Unit programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment by ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies and maintained.
- Provide leadership to members, staff and volunteers.
- Ensure the successful and timely implementation of change as needed.
- Serve as ex officio member of Program Committee, Technology Committee and other Club related groups, as needed. Attend and provide reports at monthly Board of Directors Meetings.
- Work in conjunction with Operations Director to establish yearly and quarterly goals and objectives for Unit.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Unit’s overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet objectives and members needs and interests.
- Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation, as needed.
- Ensure that facilities, vehicles and equipment are clean, organized and maintenance issues are addressed immediately.
- Manage Unit financial resources by controlling expenditures against budget.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets.
- Maintain a maintenance calendar and/or plan for the Unit and its equipment.
- Ensure that the Unit is in compliance with any state or federal guidelines regarding employment, safety, etc.
- Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Unit, including use of facilities by outside groups, emergency/crisis procedures, requests for repairs or purchases, etc.
- Recruit, train and manage and provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings.
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
- Identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other business or organizations to meet the needs of Club members.
- Recruit Advisory Council members and conduct regular meetings with Advisory Council.
- Serve as an advocate for Club members and youth in general by participating with schools and other youth service organizations.
- Report achievements and event/program announcements to school officials and the media through Administrative Office.
- Participate in and/or present to civic clubs or organizations.
- Make yourself available to speak on behalf of the Club to interested groups by coordinating such appointments with Administrative Office.
- May oversee specific programs/activities (Keystone Club, Torch Club, etc.).
- May participate in organizational programs and/or events.
- May be required to drive Club van and/or bus.
- May consult with parents concerning members and Unit issues.
- Handles deposits or banking transactions.
- Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
- Exercise authority in problems relating to members or staff.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- Four year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three year working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organizations planning and supervising activities.
- Demonstrated ability in facilities management.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to recruit, train, manage and motivate staff.
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid Missouri State Drivers License.
- May be required to drive Club van and/or bus. (Club may provide the cost for acquiring a Class E, CDL or other specialized operator’s license as required).
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to squat or bend to communicate at youths’ level.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds for short periods of time.
- Must be able to participate in physical activities throughout the facility, on the property and/or on field trips.
