Job Title: Integrated Arts Teacher

Compensation: $61,714-$96,779/year (Dynamic Benefits Package)
Position Overview: The Integrated Arts Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in the environment and world around them through the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.

Essential Responsibilities, including but not limited:
- Develop and implement an integrated arts program of inquiry, with age-appropriate planning that responds to and is supportive of the developmental needs of the students and that integrates art with environmental science/nature within the 2 strands of the IB PYP Arts Sequence:
- Responding
- Reflection
- Presenting, sharing and communicating
- Creating
- Creative exploration
- Communication
- Self-expression
- Personal and social development
- Appreciate and enjoy working with children
- Derive joy from teaching visual art
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment which is prepared, yet flexible, organized and orderly
- Utilize a wide range of art media and tools to allow for creativity, imagination and resourcefulness to be developed.
- Be able to communicate with parents, colleagues, and students clearly and accurately both orally and in writing
- Have a deep sense of community, be respectful of adults and children, understand and respect human differences, and support multicultural education
- Understand the emotional, physical, and intellectual development of students
- Promote direct student involvement and participation in all aspects visual arts expression
- Set and monitor a classroom tone which motivates, stimulates, and inspires students, is sensitive to their needs and assumes appropriate behavior and respect for fellow classmates, teachers, and the school as a whole
- Flexibility, dedication, and enthusiasm
- Interest in language learning and other cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree in visual arts education from an accredited institution.
- Master’s degree in visual arts education or 3 years of arts teaching experience preferred.
- Experience as a full time elementary level teacher with 2 years preferred.
- Academic-level proficiency in English is required
