As our Supplier Diversity Coordinator, you play a critical role in fostering partnerships with small and disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) and promoting their participation in the spaces we build. We'll count on you to attend industry outreach events, prepare bid proposal documentation, maintain comprehensive vendor lists, and ensure compliance with all diversity-related contractual requirements. To thrive in this role, you should have excellent communication and public speaking skills, the ability to build strong relationships with key clients and agencies, proficiency in relevant software tools, and a thorough understanding of supplier diversity initiatives.
What You'll Do
Aid in developing plans to target and solicit participation from the small and disadvantaged business (SDB) subcontracting community
Attend vendor diversity and industry outreach events to promote the company's commitment within the SDB subcontracting community
Prepare written narratives and participation values for bid proposals, ensuring all efforts to include small and disadvantaged participation are well-documented
Prepare and submit interim progress and final utilization reports within designated timeframes, ensuring 100% compliance with contractual requirements
Act as a resource and support contact for the Estimating Project Lead, ensuring that bid solicitation efforts meet or exceed Historically Underutilized Business or Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (HUB/MWBE) goals
Develop and maintain vendor lists in the SDB community for each area the organization pursues work and for all trades associated with client-specific work programs
Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and agencies, such as UT Offices, Texas Facilities Commission, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
What You Bring To The Team
A degree in communication, public relations, or a related field – experience with community outreach, vendor or subcontractor management will be considered in lieu of a degree
Bilingual (English/Spanish) – considered a plus
Experience with public speaking
Experience utilizing a customer relationship management (CRM) platform and estimating software is preferred
