About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Finance (open to Director) for a retail apparel and fashion company based in Carlsbad, CA. The Senior Manager of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations functions. This role primarily involves planning, implementing, managing, and running all finance activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.

Salary: Up to $140,000

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine the company's financial strategy.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and monthly reforecast processes.
  • Ensure alignment of financial objectives with the overall business strategy.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Generate regular financial reports for both internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting and reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and update the Strategic Business Plan.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO and the Board.
  • Manage the company's cash position in coordination with financial sponsors.
  • Develop and propose optimal cash management strategies.
  • Oversee relationships with financial institutions and lenders.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal tax authorities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with senior management and financial sponsors.
  • Act as a key liaison between the finance function and other departments.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and mentorship to the finance team.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and planning to implement and maintain Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Help optimize inventory management from procurement to end-customer delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT to develop a technology roadmap, with a focus on enhancing financial and operational systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in a senior role.
  • Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Experience with financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Experience in cash management and optimizing cash flow.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; familiarity with developing technology roadmaps for financial systems is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to provide actionable financial insights to executive leadership.
  • Experience in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and inventory management.
