We are currently hiring a Process Engineer for our client in the Pittsburgh, PA area.


Process Engineer


We are seeking a Process Engineer who has knowledge and experience in applying engineering skills to solve a variety of gas and liquid conditioning problems, as well as participating in decision support for capital projects and operations. This individual should be mature, self-motivated and innovative; capable of resolving problems independently.

The successful candidate will be exposed to our diverse portfolio of renewable natural gas projects and have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment with changing priorities under tight time constraints - with minimal supervision, be able to evaluate / analyze operating data and deliver timely and accurate interpretation to stakeholders, work as an individual and collaborate with project execution team to achieve shared goals, and quickly learn and apply new concepts.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to gas facility operations, monitoring the performance and integrity of gas conditioning and processing facilities to ensure reliable delivery of gas to tariff provisions
  • Identify and develop cost-effective solutions to solve operating problems
  • Develop design concepts and process designs for system deliverability and reliability enhancements
  • Develop and maintain technical process specifications and integrity plans for natural gas conditioning equipment and systems
  • Check and validate vendor equipment sizing and third-party engineering calculations
  • Develop PFDs and P&IDs for modifications of existing and development of new natural gas storage plants
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR)
  • Write process descriptions and assist in the development of project Design Basis Memorandums and operating procedures for gas conditioning and processing systems
  • Follow and ensure compliance with client's Practice of Engineering
  • Perform other related duties as business needs arise and your skills align
  • Business travel will be required


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering degrees with applicable gas processing experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of process engineering work experience
  • Basic understanding of natural gas hydrocarbon phase behavior and thermodynamics
  • Basic understanding of process simulation
  • Basic understanding of the concepts of process safety and risk management, including Process Hazard Analyses
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and engineering piping drawings
  • Basic working knowledge of gas processing equipment, processes and associated instrumentation
  • Excellent decision-making and practical problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and documentation proficiency
  • Self-starter with a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications


This position requires candidates to:

  • 50% travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which will involve overnight stays away from home.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
