Position: Middle Office Operations Analyst
Location: New York City
My client is a multi-strat Hedge Fund
3 days in office, 2 WFH
Experience 3-5yrs
Base 100-150k bonus (depends on experience/background)
Position Overview:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join their Middle Office Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OTC and listed products as well as interest rate swaps/swaptions, CDS, CDX, Options, Equities and Bonds. This role will entail full trade support; confirmations, settlement and reconciliation. This is a very involved role and is requiring applicants come for a hedge fund doing similar work.
Responsibilities:
Trade Support:
• Provide real-time support for trading desks by confirming and validating trades
• Resolve trade discrepancies by collaborating with the trading desks and counterparties.
Confirmation and Settlement:
• Confirm trades with counterparties using platforms such as ICELink and MarkitWire.
Reconciliation:
• Perform daily reconciliations of trade positions, cash, and collateral with counterparties.
• Investigate and resolve any breaks or discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collateral Management:
• Collaborate with trading desks, counterparties, and the Treasury department to optimize
collateral usage and mitigate risks.
Risk Management:
• Work closely with risk management teams to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of
market, credit, and operational risk associated with trading products.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational
efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and optimize workflows.
Qualifications:
• 3 to 6yrs of experience in Middle Office Operations at a Hedge Fund or Asset Manager
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation
processes across a variety of financial instruments.
• Desire and ability to work across teams and pitch in where and when needed
• Prior coding knowledge in SQL, Python, or VBA would be useful in order to help automate internal processes
